WHAT IS IT ABOUT ?

Sedentarity is an ill of this century : it refers to a weak or non-existent physical activity with an energy expenditure close to zero ; screen time measurement, whether it is on a computer or a television is a great sedetarity indicator.

LINK BETWEEN PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES & SEDENTARITY.

Prevention goes through ergonomic propositions to work standing up.

Standing up 5 minutes every 30 minutes for 8 hours is enough to reduce glycemia.

Practicing a physical activity showed important benefits for employees after having arranged a gym space on the company's site : decrease of body fat, improvement of physical condition (muscular strength and endurance) and the physical activity level (especially for the most sedentary at the beggining of the program). Nonetheless, sedentarity has to be considered as a professional risk and a major concern for employees

Thus, "moving carefully" is important during working-time and the initiatives aiming at reducing sendentarity in the workplace are encouraged.

The initiatives suggested in corporate in order to increase employees' physical activities and reduce sedentarity are effecitve when it comes to mental and physical health along with productivity.

Sedentarity prevention in the workplace is a win-win deal between employers and employees.
